You may have noticed saving money in your budget has been easier is some areas and harder in others - like food.
Kumiko, also known as "the budget mom," has come up with a few way to help us understand what are splurge items and necessities to help stay within budget when it comes to grocery shopping.
Decreasing the amount you spend on food:
- Eating out less
- Meal planning
- Creating recipes with items already at home
Buy food in bulk when necessary. When you are buying in bulk, try not to buy things that will go bacd quickly. Try buying things that can be put in a freezer like meats and frozen vegetables.
You can also decrease your food budget by meal planning. To prepare for meal planning, you can search online some recipes, make a list of what you need from the grocery store, and then stick to the list! Most of the time, you will end up saving in the long run from meal prepping.
