Mental Health Month - Why Care?

Mental Health Month - Why Care?

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) tells us why we should care about mental health and ways we can make a difference.

“The WhyCare? campaign is an opportunity to share the importance of mental health treatment, support and services to the millions of people affected by mental illness. Care has the power to make a life-changing impact on those affected by mental health conditions. Through our own words and actions, we can shift the social and systemic barriers that prevent people from building better lives.

Care is a simple four-letter word, but a powerful way to change lives for people affected by mental illness. Care is an action. It’s a feeling. It’s a gift we give to ourselves and to each other.  When we care: People feel loved. People feel heard.  People recover. When people care, society, and entire systems, can change.  For more than 40 years, NAMI has been a beacon of hope, support, education and advocacy for those affected by mental health conditions. Our goal for this campaign is to show those in our community that we are here for them, and we care. #NAMICares #WhyCare

There are many ways to get involved and spread the message of WhyCare? by sharing stories with us through text, graphics, video or any other medium. We want to hear what this campaign means to you: why you care for others, how support from others has helped you or what it means to have access to care.

Download graphics or Sentimoji's to support and help others. Participate in raising awareness and showing support during  awareness events  throughout the year or creating your own events or  fundraisers.”
