Oklahomans with disabilities

Make a difference on March 12  

This year's theme "Front and Center" is a call to all Oklahomans to share with state lawmakers the need to support programs that help citizens with disabilities to pursue independent lives and careers. it challenges lawmakers to help Oklahomans with disabilities reach these goals through support for critical services. This event is an opportunity to engage lawmakers and help them understand what programs are critical to Oklahomans with disabilities.  

Pre-register with the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation (OKDRS) by using the link www.okdrs.gov/pwdad or call (405) 951-3478 or (800) 845-8476.

Where: Oklahoma State Capitol, 2300 N. Lincoln, Oklahoma City, OK

11:00am - OKSAN / Oklahoma People First Rally 

12:00pm - DRS opens registration

12:30pm - exhibits open and visits to Legislators begin!

3:00pm - Awards ceremony 

Tips to prepare for the day:

  1. Pre-register online or call (405) 951-3478 or (800) 845-8476
  2. Contact your state legislators and make an appointment for that day.  Find your legislators contact information online.
  3. If you have accommodation requests, contact Cathy Martin (405) 951-3478 or email: cmartin@okdrs.gov. 
  4. Practice telling the story you want legislators to hear.
