This is a new partnership between DDCO and the Autism Foundation of Oklahoma (AFO). AFO will be developing a pilot program to empower Oklahoma employers to provide support and workplace accommodations for employees with autism throughout their employment lifecycle – from recruitment to training and career development.

AFO will be using partnerships and collaboration with the Council, the Department of Rehabilitation, Oklahoma Works, local universities and colleges, and other stakeholders who can and are willing to add value to this project with their expertise and existing resources.

This collaboration will help the Council achieve Goal 3, Objective 6 of its 5-Year State Plan: Employers, community leaders, family members and the wider community will have an increased understanding about the benefits of having individuals with developmental disabilities.
